PLASTIC WASTE FROM THE OCEANS BECOMES SWIMWEAR WITH TOP RATED UV-PROTECTION
MADE FROM ABANDONED FISHNETS
Each year 600 000 metric tons of fishing nets end up in the world’s oceans, trapping dolphins, seals and smaller fish. These abandoned nets drift with the strong currents and scrape the bottom surface, destroying the coral reefs and the world’s seabeds. As an important part of the company’s sustainability work, the UV-clothing is made from ECONYL, an innovative nylon yarn, produced entirely from recovered fishing nets and other nylon waste. ECONYL yarn is made of 78 % recycled polyamide, which has the same properties and quality as the virgin fibre.
HIGHEST UV PROTECTION FACTOR
All of Mini Rodinis UV-styles have a UPF 50+ protection. This protection stays in the garments through several washes and works perfectly to inherit through generations. In 2019 Mini Rodini was also named Best in test on the Swedish market, by Bäst-i-test.se. UPF is a rating system between 15–50, for a garment with 50+ protection means that over 97,5% of the rays gets blocked and prevents the children’s skin from taking damage. Mini Rodini offers UV styles like leggings, long sleeve tops, jumpsuits, swimsuits, shorts and caps för maximum coverage.
