A safe product for consumer, environment and workers

Safety assessments of garments is essential to make sure that no buttons or strings come loose, which could be a safety hazard for a small child. To ensure our products are safe each garment is evaluated in a risk assessment where we identify children's safety- quality- and chemical risks. The risk assessment helps us identify which garments require more extensive testing which are then performed in third party laboratories. Our children's safety standards, chemical restrictions and general quality measures are based on the highest available standards in all our selling markets.

Restricted chemicals to protect people and planet

Chemicals are a necessary part of each step of the textile production chain. However, it's essential that the chemicals used aren’t harmful to the environment, the workers handling the chemicals or to the consumer. This is why we at Mini Rodini have very strict chemical policies, and a restricted substances list (RSL), which goes beyond the restrictions set up by the EU through their REACH list. We require regular factory audit inspections, where we check that each facility is maintaining a good chemical management procedure to ensure workers are always safe from any risks caused by poor chemical handling. We also conduct random chemical tests for each season, to ensure our RSL is upheld. To make sure that we have the latest information and best practices on chemical management, Mini Rodini are members of industry platform The Chemical Group/RISE.

Fluorocarbons are non-degradable chemicals that cause harm to people and the environment. Since 2014, we are only using the eco-friendlier impregnation option BIONIC-FINISH ECO® on all our water-repellent outerwear. BIONIC-FINISH ECO® is free from fluorocarbons, formaldehyde and paraffin.
