A COLLABORATION SUPPORTING THE WILD LIFE AT SEA
For the capsule collection “Stop Whaling Now!”, Mini Rodini partnered with Sea Shepherd, an international non-profit, marine conservation organization to support its mission to defend, conserve and protect our oceans.
As one of most sustainable children’s brands on the market, Founder and Creative Director Cassandra Rhodin uses the brand’s platform to communicate the important message, as well as contributing economically to Sea Shepherd by donating proceedings of the co-lab.
CASSANDRA RHODIN ON MINI ACTIVISTS, WHALING AND THE COLLECTION
The capsule collection is for vegan pirates and mini activists, or kids that just love the oceans and wild life and want to protect it for the future.
For this co-lab Mini Rodini partnered with Sea Shepherd, an international non-profit, marine conservation organization to support its mission to defend, conserve and protect our oceans.
– When Sea Shepherd contacted us for a co-lab I was thrilled. I really admire their work and they are true heroes. If you are a whale, I’m sure you feel the same thing, says Cassandra Rhodin, Founder and Creative director.
– Our oceans are being attacked on all fronts. The animals and fish have to deal with pollution, slaughter and traps in form of human plastic waste. What the oceans need right now is peace and calm and the people’s support. The capsule-collection with the slogan “Stop Whaling Now!”, is inspired by the 70’s activist movements. It consists of a t-shirt and sweatshirt made in organic GOTS certified cotton, and a windbreaker made of recycled polyester from ocean plastic waste.
All jersey is produced following the Mini Rodini living wage program where Mini Rodini pays their factory workers an extra bonus to make sure they receive a fair income.
THE GOOD PIRATES
Established in 1977, Sea Shepherd wants to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter
of wildlife in the world’s oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species.
Sea Shepherd opposes the pollution of the fragile ecosystem through off-shore drilling and fisheries, as well as the destruction of coral reefs from trawling, and the loss of coastal nesting sites from commercial development.
Campaigns have defended whales, dolphins, seals, sharks, penguins, turtles, fish, krill and aquatic birds from poaching, unsustainable fishing, habitat destruction, and exploitive captivity.
